Quantification of History

This course teaches undergraduate students introductory-level statistics starting from simple means and building up to OLS regressions. It is based on weekly problem sets including exercises to be solved in R, Stata or SPSS.

Development of the World Economy

This course covers key topics in economic history, including the role of geography and institutions in economic development, the Industrial Revolution, colonialism, Unified Growth Theory, Malthusian regimes as well as the Great Depression and the gold standard.

Culture and Cognition

This course is at the intersection of economics, history, sociology and psychology. It brings together research from these disciplines to investigate how culture has shaped human behavior and societies in the past and today.
